The LOR-200 localizes events with a 1 cm precision, distinguishes between two events with 20 cm separation and has a sub-m attenuation deadzone. It features a very high contrast (defined as the ratio between the highest signal and the noise on a trace), which allows to see both high reflections and Rayleigh Back Scattering on a single trace, even on short spans. It is therefore an exceptional instrument for characterization of optical fiber patchcords and assemblies with both loss and high reflections at multiple connectors.
Its targeted applications include:
- avionics, where the LOR-200 can test all kinds of optical fiber assemblies inside a plane;
- full patchcord characterization with any type of connectors;
- integrity testing of optical fiber sensors, prior and after integration into a structure;
- specialty fiber verification during the various stages of production.
The LOR-200 is available for a variety of fiber types and wavelengths as a custom system. It is now ready for ordering and shipment from Luciol.
