Redfern Integrated Optics' 009x series is a cost-effective high performance external
cavity laser (ECL) developed for sensing applications. The laser design is based on
RIO's proprietary technology - PLANEX - and consists of a gain chip coupled to a planar lightwave circuit (PLC) with Bragg grating, forming a laser cavity with the following advantages:
- Narrow linewidth
- Low phase noise
- Low relative intensity noise (RIN)
- Low wavelength sensitivity to temperature and bias current
