MAIA, Portugal, 13. July. 2010 - FiberSensing today announced the release of the FS2100XT| FS2200XT Extended Temperature BraggMETER® Measurement Unit. This unit is specifically designed to interrogate FBG sensors in the most severe environmental conditions.
Adding low consumption and wide temperature range operation to the exceptional characteristics of the well-know FS2100 | FS2200 Industrial BraggMETER, the Extended Temperature BraggMETER measurement unit is suitable for the most demanding field deployments, such as oil & gas and wind energy applications.
RUGGEDIZED HOUSING
FiberSensing Extended Temperature measurement unit is fanless and, due to the IP65 aluminum enclosure, prepared to perform under extreme environmental conditions like cold, dust, heat, salt fog and humidity, meeting therefore the specifications needed for extremely hazardous and stressful environments.
Its robust and compact design makes it suited for 24/7 operation over extended temperature range (‑20 to 60 ºC) and immune to EMI and lightning.
BraggMETER
The BraggMETER measurement units employ proven continuous swept laser scanning technology to measure the absolute Bragg wavelength. They include a NIST traceable wavelength reference that provides continuous calibration to ensure system accuracy over full temperature range during long term operation. The high dynamic range and output power allow high resolution to be attained even for long fiber leads and lossy connections.
Available with one and four parallel optical channels and a large tuning range, the FS2100XT | FS2200XT unit allows the simultaneous interrogation of tenths of sensors. It is provided with a sampling rate of 1S/s. A version with a higher sampling rate (100 S/s) will be available by the end of this year.
REMOTE CONTROL
With real-time operating system this unit becomes the perfect measurement tool for harsh environment applications that require long run times and low power operation. FiberSensing Extended Temperature BraggMETER measurement unit has Ethernet interface, which allows its remote connection to any standard PC through TCP/IP. The unit can be fully controlled using SCPI commands (ASCII textual strings).
