EXALOS is developing and and selling advanced Superluminescent Light Emitting Diodes (SLEDs).
SLEDs are semiconductor light sources that show a broadband output optical spectrum (like Light Emitting Diodes LEDs) at high powers levels (like semiconductor lasers). This combination is extremely useful for a wide range of markets such as fiber optics sensors using fiber bragg grating technology, datacom and telecom applications, and fiber optic gyroscope and medical applications as OCT.
EXALOS SLEDs operate with wavelengths ranging from 650 to 1700 nm, with optical bandwidths up to 190 nm and with output powers up to 50 mW. A variety of housings/form factors are available, ranging from butterfly to standard 14-pin Dual-In-Line (DIL) and low-cost TO-56s. EXALOS also offers custom design and manufacturing of housings for one-of-a-kind or custom applications.
