The Department of Mechanical and Structural Engineering is a multidisciplinary research group at the University of Trento, ranked as the best Italian Engineering School for its excellence in research and education. The Department of Mechanical and Structural Engineering conducts research mainly in the fields of materials mechanics, structures and mechatronics. Its activity includes the development, application and testing of fiber optic sensor for structural health monitoring.
