Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) is a private, not-for-profit organisation, of public interest, a partnership of five institutions with experience and traditions in research and development.
Recently, IT has been actively involved in the development of new fiber based sensors and interrogators for different applications such as textile integration, structure health monitoring, chemical and DNA sensors, etc.
One of the key technologies developed at IT is the patented DualSense technology which uses a single fiber Bragg grating for multiparameter sensing. This technology reduces installation costs and enables the duplication of the number of sensors that can be analysed with standard interrogators.
