Wavelength References
Wavelength references is the worlds leading supplier of gas cell technology. Gas cells, use the principle of molecular absorption to provide NIST traceable wavelength references with unmatched stability over time and environment. We offer a full line of gas cells covering a wavelength range from <850nm to >10 microns. You may be familiar with acetylene gas cells as the calibrator output on your optical spectrum analyzer but they have many other applications as well such as a wavelength calibrator in any optical instrument, as a local reference for chemical sensing system, for wavelength locking of lasers, spectroscopic research, and environmental and physical sensing. Thousands of Wavelength References' gas cells are in use in all these applications. We pride ourselves on cost effective high quality solutions and welcome custom requests. We serve both end users as well as original equipment manufacturers. Our customers include leaders in fiber optic communications, test and measurement, physical sensing, chemical/medical sensing, and research.
Standard Gas Cells
We offer traceable gas cells equivalent to the NIST SRM's 2517 Acetylene Gas Cell, 2517A High Resolution Acetylene Gas Cell, 2519 Hydrogen Cyanide Gas cell, 2514 Carbon 12 Carbon monoxide Gas Cell, and 2515 Carbon 13 Carbon Monoxide Gas Cell. These devices are available in compact rugged aluminum housings with SMF28 fiber pigtails at a cost a fraction of the NIST devices and are fully traceable and functionally equivalent.
Unique Gas Cells
In addition to the standard gas cells we offer custom devices in a variety of materials and configurations. Our tri-gas cell has gas lines from 1510nm to 1640nm in one device. Our HF cell covers the 1300nm band. We can offer custom gas fillings either with pure gas or mixtures, some examples include methane, ammonia, hydrogen chloride, water, iodine, hydrogen sulphide, and others.

LL Seriies Locked Laser
The Wavlength References LL series locked laser is offered in two modes. The LL-X model features a narrow line width external cavity laser and the LL-S model an industry standard distributed feedback laser. Both models lock the laser emission to a molecular absorption line. The laser can be used as a physical standard frequency reference in the 1300 to 1610nm band. Several transitions and materials can be locked to, check availability.
